"No Covid 19 Vaccination card, no league match" - Modupe Shabi

The covid-19 vaccination card, now a compulsory document  for all players and officials. The NWFL Premiership season which kicked off on December 8 and now in its week  three will see new documents made compulsory as a result of the omicron covid-19 variant spreading rapidly all over the world.

The news media released this statement at the Secretariat of the Nigeria Women Football League in Abuja at the early hours of today that the covid-19 vaccination card must be submitted before they are allowed to play any league match

The secretariat emphasized on the necessity of the vaccination and as a federal government measures to curb the spread of the virus. "for the remaining NWFL premiership matches, it is now; no covid-19 card, no league match" 

We are going to be very strict with this, this is in strict adherence to the federal government's preventive measures against the spread of the Omicron's Covid-19 variant  which is ravaging the world today.

The NWFL Chief Operating Officer, Modupe Shabi, stated that the health and wellbeing of the players , officials and fans are a top priority as this requirement will be effective starting from matchday 3 which is Wednesday December 22, 2021.

"We Don want to expose our players to the dreaded Covid-19 variant. Aside from this, all Covid-19 preventive protocols must be carried out at match venues nationwide and the restrictions too, strictly obeyed."

This will see both players and officials  submit their fully vaccination card to the match commissioner before kick off of  all games.
