The much anticipated Flying officers cup competition which kick started at the Moshood Abiola Stadium on Sunday 10th of October 2021 has since seen different turns and upset from the tagged underdogs of the completion.
In groups D, where we have Dannaz fc , who have just been promoted to the women championship from the Amateur league side and Lakeside Queens who currently seats bottom of the group with no goals from 2 matches.
Edo Queens have been blessed to have gotten maximum 3 points with a lone goal against Nasarawa Amazon who appeared to be unlucky considering the numbers of shots on target they had with no conversion to goal.
However, the events have been unexpected as both Edo queens and Nasarawa Amazons are finding it difficult. The second round of the group game saw the first goal came in the 70th minutes with a clear shot from the returning super falconet striker Mercy before Embafan, came in to make it a 2 goal lead over Dannaz fc with a strike from outside right corner of the 18 yard box beating the defenders who have proved to be stronger defensively in the first 69 minutes of the game.
Tension and goose bumbs were served cold to the spectators as they watched Toke, the penalty goal scorer in the first round of the competition against Lakeside Queens on Tuesday after a penalty kick was awarded to Dannaz fc ladies at exactly 91st minutes of the game.
Eventually it was a fist blow into the air for the unsuspecting spectators when the penalty kick which could have seen Dannaz Fc climb up to the second position was saved by Nasarawa Amazon goal keeper Uchechukwu.
The man of the match was awarded to Tarnum Dooshima who was able to record the highest number of completed, dribbles, shots on target and passes leading to positive attack.
The sensation of the Dannaz fc goal keeper did not go unnoticed as she was superb throughout the game as she denied Mercy Dooshima Tarnum and Okoronkwo Amarachi of their chances of recording a goal in the game.
Group D which was thought to be a smooth run for both Nasarawa Amazon and Edo Queens now seems to be the toughest in the tournament with the championship side proving stubborn without respect for the league clubs.
The last round of the group stage will be played on Saturday 16th October 2021 at area 10, old Parade ground, FCT Abuja.
